It is a modern and efficient body shaping method which uses advanced laser technology to reduce fatty tissue. In the procedure, a special kind of laser fibre-optic probe (0.3 mm in diameter) is inserted into the fatty tissue through a small cut, usually in skin folds in order to make the tiny scar even less visible. The radiation emitted by the laser bloodlessly brakes the fat cell membranes up, releasing their content (triglycerides). In this way, the fat cells are turned into a liquid which over the next few days is absorbed and disposed of by the body by means of normal metabolic processes. Where the procedure is applied over a large area of the body low-pressure aspiration of the excess liquefied fat is used as well.
The results of the treatment can be visible immediately afterwards, however the ultimate and stable effects can take up to three months to be seen.

The laser energy used during the lipolysis procedure has the ability to close blood vessels, thanks to which the bleeding is largely reduced along with the risk of swelling or bruising. The under skin application of laser energy also stimulates the production of new collagen fibres, increasing skin tension and thus providing a lifting effect.

Thanks to its characteristics laser lipolysis requires only local anaesthesia, which considerably increases its safety as compared with procedures involving general anaesthesia. The length of the treatment ranges from 30 to 90 minutes. The procedure is minimally invasive and the patient may quickly return to full activity. The risk of complications is reduced to a negligible level. The patient may come back home about 2 hours after the treatment with a tumescen anaesthesia that is effective for up to 17 hours. In that time some slight pain may occur, similar to the one experienced after heavy physical effort. Usually, one or two days of rest after the treatment are enough to resume normal activities (however, sports should be avoided for a few weeks). Slight bruising and swelling should disappear within few days following the treatment. During the recovery patients should visit the doctor to make sure the healing proceeds correctly.

Contraindications to laser lipolysis: pregnancy, diabetes, liver conditions (hepatopathies), circulatory system diseases, nephropaties and skin diseases.
Laser lipolysis is applied to the following areas of the body: waist, chin, shoulders, neck, hips, buttocks, inner and outer thighs, pubic area, male chest and face (except for the area around eyes).
