Injection lipolysis
is a modern method which allows non-surgical reduction of fatty tissue for the people who want to avoid the surgical procedure of liposuction. Injection lipolysis consists in the injection of a drug mixture containing phosphatidylcholine into the area of excessive accumulation of fat. The phosphatidylcholine applied to the fatty tissue breaks up the fat cells (lipocytes). When the substance penetrates into the cell it triggers breakdown of the fat into triglycerides and fatty acids. Subsequently, they are transported with lipoproteins to the liver, where the fats are disintegrated and eliminated from the organism.
