Buttock augmentation procedures are becoming more and more popular. It is a relatively novel procedure, which is gaining in popularity in Poland. It provides the effect of both augmentation and lifting of the buttocks. The procedure is mostly chosen by younger women and men, but also by people whose buttocks have lost firmness due to ageing. 

Buttock augmentation is carried out for a number of reasons: to have proportional gluteal muscles, to increase the volume of fatty tissue in the buttocks, or to increase their size. Surgical augmentation of the buttocks is performed in our Centre in two ways: by transplanting own fatty tissue (autologous fat) or by inserting special implants. In the first method, the fatty tissue is obtained through liposuction from another area of the body and then injected into the buttocks. The drawback of the method is that the fatty acid may become partially or wholly absorbed by the body with time. When implants are used, the material remains in place and a permanent effect is ensured. What is more, the implants may be removed at request. Most patients return to normal activities right after the procedure. The incision is made in the fold between the buttocks to hide the scar. Stitches are removed after 8-10 days.
